Welcome to an exceptional estate in Vairé
Upon arrival, the Damona Lodges team welcomes you at reception—open from 9 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM (9 AM – 12 PM on Sundays)—to provide you with the gate access code and accompany you to your lodge. Check-in is from 4 PM and check-out is before 10 AM. In case of late arrival, please notify us at 06 12 42 42 42, and we will make the necessary arrangements for self-check-in.
The estate is open year-round. Staff speak French and English. A first-aid kit is available at the reception desk.
Accepted payment methods: credit card, holiday vouchers (ANCV Connect), cash, and bank transfer.
Hotel services for your stay near Les Sables-d’Olonne
Of course, the goal is for our guests to be self-sufficient within their accommodation. Nevertheless, we believe it is essential to prepare for your arrival and make your daily life easier throughout your stay.
Upon arrival, and for lodges with private spa in a bohemian or rustic style, we will have already made your bed. No need to travel with your towels: bath linens are provided. Additionally, you will find a hygiene and beauty kit in your bathroom to help you out. In Ethnic lodges without spa, bed and bath linens are available for an additional fee (20 euros for the sheet set and 5 euros for the towel set). Of course, you are welcome to bring your own linens.
We do not have a restaurant, but you can absolutely order your meal from the estate. We offer menus in the form of jars prepared by a local caterer, “Le Garde Manger.” From appetizer to dessert and main course, you will find something to enjoy in the selection available in the glass-front refrigerator at our reception. Also treat yourself to our aperitif platter featuring cheese and charcuterie, perfect for starting your stay with us on the right note.
- The jarred meals in our meal basket are prepared by the caterer “Le Garde-Manger” (25 €/person — must be reserved 48 hours in advance).
- The aperitif platter (cheese/charcuterie): 26 euros per platter (generous for two).
- For breakfast—a vacation essential—we have created several options in collaboration with local artisans.
Breakfast options:
- Sweet breakfast: beverage (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate), fruit juice (orange or apple), fresh bread, mini pastries, brioche, jam, butter, spread, honey — 11 €/person/day.
- Vitality breakfast: previous option + yogurt with fruit coulis — 13 €/person/day.
- Children’s breakfast: brioche + spread + cereal + hot chocolate pod and milk — 7.50 €/child/day.
We deliver your breakfast and meal basket directly to your lodge (inquire at reception upon arrival). You can choose the time you would like to receive your breakfast between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM.

Selection of nature activities for couples and families
Damona Lodges is located on a natural estate with an incredibly rich ecosystem. Wild animals roam freely thanks to a protective enclosure. The woods, forests, and marshes offer plenty of space for walking and cycling (mountain biking). Fishing is available year-round in our ponds. Visitors, take advantage of this preserved setting to rediscover nature in Vendée.
The charm of the Damona Lodges estate in Vendée owes much to the presence of animals. Around a bend in the path, a hare, fox, or badger appears. If you have a keen eye, you will likely spot a weasel in full sprint, a squirrel climbing an oak trunk, or a deer napping in the fir tree lanes.
Our marsh is classified Natura 2000, meaning the European Union recognizes its heritage value. Being part of this network helps us better protect its exceptional fauna and flora, particularly its birds. Many species come to nest here: duck, heron, swan, moorhen, shelduck, teal, woodcock, woodpecker, jay, kingfisher, cormorant, egret…
The diversity of the population is impressive! Feel free to bring binoculars to observe them.
Have you noticed the antlers adorning our emblem, the Celtic goddess Damona? They reference the stars of the estate: roe deer and fallow deer. These elegant cervids, with long legs and large gentle eyes, often come to greet you upon arrival.
To enjoy your walks and strolls peacefully, we recommend wearing closed, thick, high-top shoes.
Our estate is ideal for walks. It is pleasant because it is heavily wooded: oaks, willows, poplars, wild cherries, service trees… Our forests are made up of majestic Corsican pines with slender silhouettes. In places you will see broom, butcher’s broom, holly, or mulberry bushes. Reeds grow in our marshes, or reed beds.
Depending on the season, mimosa or primroses bloom. In autumn, various mushrooms appear: parasol mushrooms, pine boletes, fairy ring mushrooms… While they are, in principle, edible, we advise against tasting them! If you get hungry, head instead to our local products shop.
For added peace of mind, the estate is fully fenced and secure.
Our patron is Damona, goddess of springs and rivers in Gaulish mythology. Water is indeed very important to the estate, bordered to the south by the Auzance River and to the west by a stream.
To the northeast are our ponds where black bass, carp, and eels live. You can fish there year-round. A fishing license is not required.

Do you offer breakfast?
We offer two types of breakfast:

Is there a dining service on the estate?
Damona Lodges offers, in collaboration with the caterer “Le Garde-Manger,” jarred menus with appetizer-main-dessert according to availability and season at 25 € per person. Menus must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance.
You can also reserve an aperitif platter (cheese and charcuterie) for 26 euros per platter. Perfect for an aperitif on your lodge terrace.
Do we need to clean at the end of the stay?
Cleaning must be done at the end of your stay if you have not purchased the cleaning package. You can add the cleaning package when booking online. Rates are as follows: 80 euros for 2-bedroom lodges and 60 euros for Suite, accessible, and Ethnic lodges.
