Damona Lodges: the glamping experience just a stone’s throw from the Vendée beaches

In the heart of Vendée, nestled in the private estate of La Chausserie, our unique lodges open the doors to a 123-acre natural park kept away from the world—an incomparable glamping experience just a short distance from Les Sables-d’Olonne. Between oak and willow forests, Natura 2000 classified marshes, ponds, and the Auzance river, here, nature reclaims all its rights.

But wait, do you know what glamping is? The word is a contraction of glamour and camping. It refers to outdoor accommodation solutions that sacrifice neither elegance nor standard amenities (quality bedding, private bathrooms, etc.). This is the approach we follow.

Welcome to Damona Lodges, your estate for a unique stay in Vendée.

Damona, the guardian of our natural park in Vendée

The Gallic divinity of springs and rivers.

As you will see during your visit, the park is bordered by the Auzance river, which rises in Sainte-Flaive-des-Loups and flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Havre de la Gachère. It crosses the most beautiful Vendée landscapes: the Pays des Achards, the Olonne marshes, and the village of La Gachère in Brem-sur-Mer.

Inspired by this neighbor, we chose the name Damona for our business, the Celtic goddess of rivers and streams. We have crowned her with antlers as a tribute to the deer you might encounter during your walks.

A symbol of the relationship between humans and non-humans.

This protective figure, which the Gauls associated with healing, symbolizes for us the links between humans and other living beings.

Animals are not allowed on the estate or inside the lodges.

Our 50-hectare park is accessible to you.

We strongly recommend bringing boots to explore the corners of the estate.

Nature is at the heart of your stay. On the estate, there’s no shortage of things to do: go fishing by the ponds (don’t forget your fishing gear and bait), walk or cycle wherever you like, or observe the wildlife at dawn from the park paths. Back in your Vendée cocoon, settle into your lodge with a private spa, leaf through a book borrowed from reception, or take out a board game for a family evening. Here, the pace is yours.

It is possible to drop off and pick up belongings and/or people in front of the lodges, but the vehicle must then be parked in the parking lot.

The spas are heated to a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius throughout the year. It is not possible to lower or increase the temperature.

No, Damona Lodges does not have tent or caravan pitches.
